Position Description

Assistant Chief Nursing Officer – Behavioral Health

Full-Time | Days | No Weekends

We are seeking an experienced Assistant Chief Nursing Officer (ACNO) to join a 60-bed Behavioral Health Hospital providing inpatient stabilization for adults and adolescents. This role plays a key part in strategic planning, policy development, and operational oversight to ensure high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in formulating policies, ensuring compliance with standards, and driving performance improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with leadership, physicians, and nursing staff to enhance patient care and hospital operations.
  • Lead and support nursing teams, including managers, supervisors, and mental health techs.
  • Optimize ER throughput and behavioral health patient transfers.
  • Drive staff development and foster a culture of excellence in behavioral health care.

Qualifications:

  • RN license (unrestricted)
  • Master’s in Nursing or related field preferred (or proof of enrollment)
  • 5+ years of leadership experience in an inpatient behavioral health setting
  • Strong knowledge of behavioral health regulations and ER-to-BH patient transfers
